Application and Maintenance Example

PRODUCT APPLICATION AND CARE FOR A RESTAURANT FLOOR

Each application is different. This example gives a common method for restaurant floors using an acid stain, CCI - 593-22 and CCI - 5000.

A simplified version of a commonly used system on interior commercial applications is as follows:

1. Make sure floor is free of oils, tar, paint, stains, drywall mud and all adverse materials on the surfaces as they may impair the finished product.

2. Apply Acid Stain and allow to dry.

3. Apply second coat of Acid Stain where and if needed allow to dry.

4. After coat(s) have dried, remove all residue. Scrub, rinse and vacuum or mop up residue to dry.

5. Apply first coat of CCI - 593-22 at 400 square feet per gallon. Preferred application is an airless spray unit, but product may be brushed or rolled. If a roller is used do not over-work the product and use a short nap roller, so not to trap air.

6. After the first coat has dried tack-free, apply second coat of CCI - 593-22 at 400 square feet per gallon.

7. After CCI - 593-22 has dried tack-free, wait 2 hours then apply the first coat of CCI - 5000 Industrial Floor Finish at 1000-1100 square feet per gallon. Preferred application tool is a lamb's wool applicator or a finish mop.

8. After the first coat of CCI - 5000 has dried tack-free approximately, 30-40 minutes, apply second coat of CCI - 5000 at 1000 to 1100 square feet per gallon.

9. Allow to cure before exposing to any foot traffic. Cover floor prior to other trades commencing work. DO NOT TAPE COVER TO THE FLOOR.

DAILY MAINTENANCE

CCI-450 was designed for daily floor care. CCI-450 is a no-rinse neutral floor cleaner. CCI-450 is an effective general purpose cleaner for removing light to moderate soils from hard surfaces. CCI-450 is easy to use and provides economical care. Remember. never use bleach on any coated floor.

For daily maintenance of floors that have a fight soil, use a solution of 4 to 8 ounces per gallon of water. For medium soiled areas, use a solution of 8 to 12 ounces per gallon of water, and upto 16 ounces for heavily soiled areas. Apply with a damp mop. CCI-450 may be diluted in similar fashion and used in a trigger sprayer with a damp cloth of sponge for cleaning small surfaces.

CCI-450 is recommended and safe for daily cleaning over all Chem-Coat's products.

TO RENEW GLOSS FINISH AND REMOVE BLACK MARKS

CCI-65 Floor Revitalizer is used to remove black heel marks and scuffs. Its special formulation of cleaners and polymers, made possible through advancing floor maintenance technology, is equally well-suited to use in high speed polishing machines or with traditional spray-buffing and mop-buffing technologies.

In high traffic areas, when applicable, simply clean floor with CCI-450 making sure all residue is removed. Rinse with clean water, dry area and apply a light coat of CCI-5000 with sponge mop.

FLOOR STRIPPER

CCI - S - 95 FLOOR STRIPPER will remove old wax or finish. CCI - S - 95 removes hardened floor waxes and built-up layers of water-resistant floor finishes. CCI - S - 95 will quickly remove the old floor finish and leave the floor ready to coat with CCI - 5000, while riot removing CCI - 593-22.

This system will give a long lasting floor that is easy to maintain and is also easily repaired, should the floor become damaged.

Before cleaning, place wet floor signs around work area. Always place wet floor signs when working with any liquid on the floor. Do not remove the signs until the floor is dry and safe to walk on.
